Certified Tai Chi instructor Erica Bough demonstrates Shibashi body movements, breathing exercises, and meditation to help reduce stress, restore balance, and increase flexibility. All experience levels welcome. Wear comfortable clothes.

Practice seated poses in one of the gentlest forms of yoga available, led by certified yoga instructor Joan McGee. All experience levels welcome. Wear comfortable clothes.

Bring your baby and a towel for a splashing good time on the patio. In case of bad weather, this program will move indoors to the Activity Room.

Birth to 24 Months with a parent/caregiver

Create handmade knitted and crocheted crafts for local organizations. Please bring your needles and/or hooks and some acrylic yarn.

Drop in for some open-ended play and meet new friends at our weekly playgroup.

Birth-5 years old with a parent/caregiver

Listen to stories, sing songs, and more our library staff brings storytime outside to the library lawn!

Birth to age 5 with a parent/caregiver

Between the Lines is now held at two different days, either in person or on Zoom.

Come play with the Library’s collection of blocks. We’ll supply the Duplo, wooden, and foam blocks – you bring your imagination and building skills! Children under 8 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. 

All Ages

After you earn your Summer Reading shirt, bring it to the Library for some tie-dye fun! Only official Summer Reading shirts will be tie-dyed.

The Chicago Klezmer Ensemble, led by Kurt Bjorling, presents an elegant and knowledgeable approach to klezmer music that retains the earthy, human, and expressive qualities.

Stop in the Library each week for a different family-friendly movie. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver.

Younhee Shin from the Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project will join us over Zoom to present a short documentary and guide us through creating a lotus lantern.

Stop by the Activity Room for hands-on fun with science, technology, engineering, art, or math. You may join in at any time during the session but plan at least half an hour to build and explore.

Learn the basics of Cricut for your crafting needs. 

This summer, we’re creating fun on the Library lawn with a lineup of games (weather permitting). Games are geared toward school-aged kids and above, though younger children are welcome to participate with a grown-up.

A fun-filled hour of anime appreciation for high-schoolers. We’ll watch and talk about your favorite shows, draw, and enjoy all things anime.

Learn how to play chess with chess master Chris Christmas. All skill levels welcome.
