The Library is now offering no-contact curbside pickup services. Read on for details and instructions.
Here's what you need to know about curbside pickup:
- By appointment only
- Only MGPL items are eligible for pickup
- Holds must be ready for pickup before requesting a time slot
- Confirmed time slot required to be able to pick up items
- Returns and donations not accepted during pickup times
1. Place a hold
Log in to your account to place holds on items you’d like to borrow. Or call us at (847) 965-4220 and our staff can help you find what you're looking for and place holds for you.
2. Wait to hear from us
As soon as your items are available, we’ll send you an email. (If you don’t have email, we’ll give you a call.) Please do not come to the Library until you receive this notification.
3. Request pickup
Use the online form to make a pickup request. Or call us at 847-965-4220 and we can do it for you. (If any of your other holds become available before your appointment, those holds will be included in your order.)
4. Come to the Library
Come to the Library’s east alleyway entrance. Your items will be on a table in a bag with your name on it for you to take.

You can return your library items anytime in the outside bookdrop, which is now open 24/7.
Returned materials will be quarantined for 3 days (as recommended by RAILS and recent scientific studies) before being handled by Library staff, who will be wearing masks. To avoid potentially damaging materials, please do not disinfect or clean library materials yourself.
Returned items will be quarantined for 3 days before processing and will remain on your account until they have been checked in.
The Library's delivery service has suspended all deliveries due to COVID-19. Once delivery is resumed, patrons will be able to place holds on materials from other CCS libraries for delivery, but with longer wait times.
Currently, only items owned by MGPL can be placed on hold for pickup. (STEM Kits not included.)
All materials will have a 3-week loan period.
Materials will stay on hold for 7 days to allow time to make a pickup appointment.
All materials will be checked out to your account and bagged before your appointment. All you will need to do is arrive during your appointment time and take your items.
If any of your other holds become available before your appointment, those holds will be included in your order.
