The Morton Grove Public Library began as a volunteer organization over 80 years ago, and volunteers are still a vital part of Library operations. We welcome enthusiastic lifelong learners who want to serve their community by assisting Library staff with a wide range of services and programs.
MGPL welcomes all volunteers regardless of race, color, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, political ideology, age, creed, veteran status, religion, ancestry, national origin, language spoken, socioeconomic status, or the variations of any sensory, physical, or mental ability.

Teen Volunteer Opportunities
Teen Volunteer Drop-In
Join us for a Teen Volunteer Drop-in where students grade 9-12 can earn community service hours for completing fun and meaningful tasks. No registration is required.
This event will start in February. Please check back for details.
Write a book review
Love reading? Want to share your favorite books with others? Write a book review! Reviews will be featured on this page and the Library’s Goodreads page. Each review will give you 30 minutes of service hours. Teens do not need to fill out a volunteer application to do this task.
Court-Ordered Community Service
We accept requests for court-ordered community service hours from adults 18 years and older, but not from teens.
