Come one, come all to a math-tacular spectacular! We'll leap into mathematics with games, stories, and creative play that add up to a circus full of fun.

Ages 3-5 with a parent/caregiver

Radio historian Steve Darnall will discuss how radio brought the war into the lives of its listeners with presidential speeches, news broadcasts, and entertainment shows.

Learn mindfulness and positive psychology practices to help reduce stress and increase enjoyment of life. Presented by Cook County Community Health Educator Leilah Siege

Create like the great artists! We will look at the artwork of well-known artists and then use them as inspiration to create our own  masterpieces. This session's artist: Keith Haring.

Ever wish you could just do the fun parts of science experiments? Now you can! Join us for an hour of spectacular science time. This month, we're building chain reactions

Grades 5-8

Tap into your inner creativity with a fun and easy craft project. This month: Wind Chime

Trained therapy dogs patiently listen to your child as they read from a book of their choice. Participants should be able to read independently for their full 15-minute session.

Teens planning on volunteering for Summer Reading 2025 must attend this orientation. For Grades 9-12.

Play popular board games, including Ticket to Ride and Codenames. Participants can also bring their own board game to play. 

This program is for adults and teens (grades 9 and above)

Matthew Desmond, professor of sociology at Princeton University and author of Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City, will discuss poverty, urban life, housing insecurity, racial inequality, and ethnography.
