As Graphic Designer at the Library, I’m very excited to debut the latest issue of the Library newsletter, which will start arriving in Morton Grove mailboxes over the next week.

This issue, featuring December and January events, was a fun one to design. It’s the second issue with the new rebranded style, so I hope you find the layout easy to read and the content valuable and informative. The cover spotlights our 2019 Winter Break Reading Program and its narwhal mascot, which was beautifully designed by Bettina, our Youth Services Graphics Coordinator.

In addition to the movies, concerts, storytimes, and other events you regularly enjoy at the Library, this issue spotlights:

  • the 2020 Coming Together series, "Journeys to Niles Township", with excerpts from oral history interviews with two Morton Grove residents
  • “2019 In Review” and “A Year in Changes” featurettes, with interesting stats about how you used the Library in the last year
  • Our continuing Healthy Living program series
  • Creativebug, a new digital resource for crafters and DIYers

I find it really interesting to see how much the newsletter has evolved over the years. Not just with its design but also in the types and quantity of programs we offer. I appreciate seeing just how much we have changed along with the needs of our community.

Check out our Newsletters page to view the current issue online and access the full newsletter archive going back to the 1970s. You can also sign up to receive email newsletters for new and upcoming releases in a variety of formats and genres.

And please let us know what you think of the latest issue at engagement@mgpl.org
