Did you know that Ancestry, one of our best databases, is temporarily accessible outside of the library? Throughout the month of August, you can access it with your MGPL card. If you have not played around with Ancestry, now is the time to give it a try!

There's a reason Ancestry’s name is synonymous with genealogy. With one simple search Ancestry gives you access to billions of records across their vast collections, streamlining your family history research and allowing even people new to genealogy to fill in a good deal of their family tree.

Even if genealogy does not appeal to you, it is worth jumping in and doing a few quick searches. You never know what you might find.

How to access Ancestry

Use this link or the one on our Databases page and enter your library card number to start your journey into your family’s history.
